BIOGRAPHY

I am a self-shooting director and edit producer, specialising in character-led observational documentaries for major broadcasters and streamers.

After a decade working in the film industry (New Line Cinema, Paramount Pictures & The British Independent Film Awards), I moved across to documentary filmmaking. Much of my work has focused on visual anthropology, adventure and international conservation, as I enjoy celebrating and interrogating the complexity of life, using my skills in the pursuit of positive social change.

No stranger to challenging environments, my body of film and photography spans 6 continents and frequently involves embedding within communities to work collaboratively and unearth hidden truths over time.

With cultural roots in El Salvador and Italy, I am fluent in Spanish, Italian & French. I have considerable experience working abroad, including with a treehouse-dwelling West Papuan tribe; filming the Wild Bactrian (two humped) Camel in the Mongolian snow; meeting in secret locations with a former toxic waste trafficking Camora mafia boss; out in the Kalahari Desert with San hunter-gatherers; up a volcano with the Prince Philip worshipping people of Vanuatu, and documenting politicians and frontline paramilitary fighting to protect the Congo Basin Rainforest, to name a few examples.

I am driven by pure curiosity and drawn to breaking new ground (feature docs, pilots, first series, investigative research), as well as experimenting with form, visual storytelling and creative narrative devices, always looking to bring a cinematic ambition to my work.

Alongside my film & tv work, I am open to short form commissions, be it short docs, video art, branded content or music videos. Previous commercial clients include WaterBear, WWF, Amnesty International, Studio XO, PhotoVoice & Wired Magazine.
